It’s Cooler in Pooler

Pooler Homes, Dining and Neighborhoods

Everyone says, “It’s cooler in Pooler,” but in terms of growth, you’d be hard pressed to find a hotter city in Georgia right now. More and more neighborhoods and subdivisions are developing in this area, which means more and more restaurants are opening to keep up with the hungry crowds. While many of these places are of the chain-restaurant variety, there are some hidden gems in Pooler if you’re looking for a quality dining experience.

Pooler Homes

Wasabi Fusion

A bit over four years ago chef Jojo left Wasabi Fusion in downtown Savannah to open Wasabi Fusion Pooler. The menu includes traditional dishes such as ramen, shrimp tempura, and yaki udon, as well as teriyaki platters. But for those looking for something a little different, Jojo has come up with a vast selection of sushi options.

From the traditional to the surprising, chef Jojo’s menu features tasty rolls, sashimi, temaki and nigiri. Appetizers like edamame, gyoza and harumaki are also featured on the menu. You can choose from table seating or sit at the sushi bar. Don’t let the size of the menu daunt you — if you can’t decide, the staff are always happy to offer suggestions.

Miss Sophie’s

Located inside the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force, Miss Sophie’s originally served only casseroles and salads. Now they have expanded to a full-service restaurant serving classic Southern lunches. The menu features a variety of sandwiches, including housemade chicken salad, meatloaf, pimento cheese, and shrimp salad, as well as a rotating daily specials such as fried pork chops, fried chicken, and pot roast. While Miss Sophie’s is only open for lunch, you can purchase her ready-to-bake casseroles at enMarket stores throughout Pooler.

Pie Society

Pie Society is an authentic British Bakery that specializes in meat pies. Made fresh daily, the selection includes flavors such as steak and ale pie, chicken and thyme pie, and vegetable pie. These are available fresh, but there are also dishes available refrigerated so that they can be heated up later. If you’re really in a crunch for time, you can call ahead 2 hours in advance, and your pie will be hot and ready to be picked up.In addition to pies, Pie Society also has lasagnas, quiches, and pasties. This bakery also recognizes the importance of a sweet tooth, and sells tasty treats such as berry crumbles, scones, and fruit pies.

Molly McPherson’s Scottish Pub and Grill

If you’re looking for something a little more robust, check out Molly McPherson’s Scottish Pub and Grill. A dazzling display of single-malt scotches line the back of the bar–you can order them individually, or if you’re in the mood to try something new, order a flight! The bar also offers a selection of beers (domestic and imported, and local Georgia beers), as well as wine and liquor. The food at Molly’s (as it’s affectionately called by locals) is pub fare with a Scottish flair, and it’s sure to please. The Scottish Meat Pies are always a winner, as well as the Shepherd’s Pie, the Steak and Guinness Stew, the Scotch Eggs, and the Bangers and Mash.

Pooler is a Small But Growing City.

Pooler is experiencing new growth, which is evident in many of the new houses that are being built. Even with the rapid growth that Pooler is experiencing, it is still relatively easy to find homes outside of the hub of Pooler’s center. In fact, Pooler homes reside in communities that offer many amenities, while being easily accessible to both Pooler shopping and entertainment as well as Savannah.
